For batches, an EK Tools 1/8" punch handles cardstock cleanly. Punch before cutting individual tags — it's faster and more consistent.

Bakers twine (red-white striped) is the most versatile and reads as both Christmas and rustic-handmade. Satin ribbon elevates wedding favors. Jute or hemp twine suits kraft tags and farmhouse aesthetics. Cut to about 8" per tag, thread through the punched hole, and tie a simple knot or bow. A 100-foot spool of twine handles roughly 150 tags.
