Free Avery 5168 Template

Print 3½" x 5" Avery 5168 labels: 4 per sheet, no Word or signup. Why free?

The Avery 5168 template is set up for the 4-up US Letter sheet: two columns by two rows of 3 1/2 x 5 inch labels. These are some of the largest die-cut shipping labels you can run through a regular printer - big enough for bold storage-room labels, pallet tags, and full shipping blocks readable from a distance. Type, paste, import a CSV, or repeat one label across the sheet.

What size is Avery 5168?

Avery 5168 is a 3 1/2" x 5" label layout with 4 labels per US Letter sheet, arranged 2 columns by 2 rows. It is one of the largest standard die-cut shipping labels.

What are Avery 5168 labels used for?

Large shipping labels, storage bin and shelf labels, pallet tags, and any label that needs to be readable from across a room.

What is the difference between Avery 5168 and 5164?

5168 labels are 3 1/2" x 5" with 4 per sheet; 5164 labels are 3 1/3" x 4" with 6 per sheet. Choose 5168 for maximum size, 5164 for more labels per sheet.

Can I import addresses from CSV?

Yes. Use Import CSV to map name, street, city, state, ZIP, and country columns. Each row becomes one multi-line label.

Can I repeat one label 4 times?

Yes. Type one label and use Tile / repeat, or edit one cell and choose Duplicate this cell to all cells.

How do I print accurately?

Set browser print scale to 100%, disable headers and footers, and test on plain paper before loading label sheets.

Can I add logos or icons?

Yes. Use Image+Text mode for labels with a logo, or Text mode for plain address and shipping labels.

Can I print only part of a sheet?

Yes. Use per-cell editing to blank out already-used positions before printing a partial sheet.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Text and CSV content stay in the browser. The page is static and does not store label data.

Where exactly do the labels sit on an Avery 5168 sheet?

The die-cut has generous 0.5" margins on all four sides. Columns repeat every 4" with a half-inch gutter between them, and rows repeat every 5" with no vertical gap - four postcard-sized labels per sheet. This page reproduces those exact coordinates instead of dividing the sheet evenly, which is what keeps the last row from drifting off its die-cut.

What if my printer prints slightly off-center?

Most printers feed paper a fraction of a millimeter off, and on label stock that shows. Use the Printer alignment panel to print a test sheet, hold it against a label sheet in front of a light, and nudge the layout in 0.25mm steps. The setting is saved for next time.

Why does my sheet print crooked?

Usually feeding, not software. Feed label sheets one at a time from the manual or bypass tray if you have one, never run a sheet through twice, and store unused sheets flat in the packaging - humidity curls label stock, and a curled sheet feeds crooked.

What else do people print on 5168 sheets?

Warehouse shelving, pallet tags, big storage totes, archive boxes, and school supply bins - anywhere a label needs a one-inch title readable across a room. In Image+Text mode the postcard-size face carries a logo plus product name for larger boxes and tubs.

Should I buy laser or inkjet sheets?

Match the box to your printer: 5168 is laser-rated stock and the inkjet-rated equivalents Avery lists for the 4-up size is the same die-cut coated for inkjet ink. Laser toner resists moisture and handling; inkjet renders color more richly. Running the wrong stock through a printer risks smearing (inkjet stock in a laser) or soft, fuzzy text (laser stock in an inkjet).

What font size fits this label?

A label this large invites big type: a 36 to 48 point title plus 14 point detail lines is a good starting balance. Auto-fit handles it for you - it shrinks each label's text just enough to fit - but if you set a fixed size, print one plain-paper proof first and read it at arm's length.

Do I need Word or the Avery software?

No. This template runs entirely in the browser - nothing to install, no account, no plug-in. It replaces the Word template workflow: the 5168 grid is already measured and locked, you just add content and print. It works the same on Windows, Mac, Chromebooks, and Linux.

Can I save my layout and come back later?

Yes. Use Save to store the layout in your browser and Load to bring it back, or click Share this tool to copy a link that encodes your current layout. Returning visitors are also offered a restore of their last session automatically.
