Print Avery-compatible name tags at home. No signup, no watermark. Why? →
Free Name Tag Maker is a browser-based tool for printing name tags for events, classrooms, conferences, orientations, and meetups. Type one name per line and print onto Avery 5395 / 5384 / 5392 name badge sheets, full-sheet sticker paper, or cardstock for badge holders. Auto-fit sizing handles long names without crunching. Pair with lanyards or pin-back holders for full conference-grade name badges. 10 tags per US Letter sheet by default. Your data stays in your browser.
The default preset (2 columns × 5 rows) matches Avery 5395 and 5384 name badges (10-up, 2⅓" × 3⅜"). For smaller badges, switch to a 2×6 grid for Avery 5392. For full-sheet sticker paper that you cut yourself, the size is fully adjustable in section 3.
The most common size is 3" × 2" (event / conference standard) or 3⅜" × 2⅓" (Avery 5395). For lanyard-style ID badges, 4" × 3" is standard. Wider tags read better from across a room — go bigger if your event involves networking or speakers approaching from a distance.
Currently the tool prints one centered name per tag. To add a header strip, do two passes: first print the "HELLO MY NAME IS" line on the top half (use a 1-column × 10-row layout, tile mode, with that text), then re-feed the same sheet and print the names on the bottom half. Or, print on pre-printed Hello-My-Name-Is sticker sheets, which already have the header.
Sans-serif at the largest size that fits the longest name. The Sans font in Bold weight is the most legible from 6+ feet away. Avoid script fonts for events — they look elegant but can't be read across a table. Increase the size slider to 60+ for maximum impact, and let auto-fit shrink the longer names.
Not in v1 — text-only mode prints centered text per cell. As a workaround, print a sheet of just logos in image mode first, then re-feed the printed sheet and run it again in text mode with names. The logo lands on each tag, then names print over them. Or use Avery sheets that come pre-printed with your logo for higher volume.
Only for repeated use — single-event tags don't need it. For classroom desk tags or weekly meetings where the same tag is reused, laminate or use rigid badge holders. Pin-back holders and magnetic clips both extend tag life by keeping the printed surface enclosed.
